Even if I'm saying so myself, I gotta say, these are some damn good cupcakes!

They don't look too perfect though, because I didn't have enough nougat left to make more topping X3 Anyway, I found this really delicious looking cupcake recipe online and decided to try it, although ended up making some alterations to it even though I wasn't planning to XD; Since we have the whole house upside down because of the renovations, I went to bake at grandma's place. She was looking at while I was baking, saying how the recipe was "old school" style because of how the ingredients were mixed together, like, sugar and margarine mixed before adding the eggs to make it lighter. I ended up using cream instead of milk to give it a more creamy taste, since although I never drink anything else but fat free milk, it's not the best choise for baking. Plus, my little cousins had wanted cream to something so my grandma had almost a full, small carton of cream she didn't need so might as well use that XD
The cupcakes themselves came out perfect! But then I had a little trouble because I didn't have enough nougat to melt for the top, since most of the nougat I had chopped inside the cupcakes, and I didn't have enough nougat to start up with ^^; So I thought why not make some nougat ganache! XD Is there something like that? I've heard of chocoalte ganache but never about nougat ganache... Oh well, it was my sudden inspiration XD I had a tiny bit of the cream left after all so why not use it! So while the cupcakes were in the oven I was making the ganache, which also came out perfect btw XD People always say making it is kinda difficult because if you add the chocolate (or in this case, nougat) when the cream is too hot it will come out looking bad, and if it's too cool it won't melt right. Anyway, I had simply mixed all the rest of the cream and nougat so I hadn't exactly measured those left-overs... So when I tried putting it on the cupcakes it of course didn't work out XD; So while I shared the couple "ruined" cupcakes with my sis, grandma and myself, I put the ganache bowl cool down in the fridge enough so that I could whip it into a creamy version of the ganache! Still, I didn't have enough of it to fully cover the cupcakes so it doesn't look too good but then again, the nougat ganache turned out to be so overly sweet any more than that and no one could eat them!
So in the end I have some pillow light chocolate cupcakes with a nougat heart in the middle of the soft inside, and an out-of-the-blue whipped nougat ganache on the top! =D
Aah, I had forgotten how much I love baking... Hm, I think the next time I feel up to it I wanna make some brownies... I probably would have baked some right away but grandma didn't have any crushed nuts I'd need for it XD And too much sweets at once would be bad!!
PS. Apparently the nougat ganache works well with other than cupcake topping too XD Because I gave the last bits of it to Jenna since she asked if she could have some for her crackers she was eating while waiting grandma to come back to help her with her cosplay costume, and she liked it like that XD So it seems it works well on being spread on crackers or something else, although it's so sweet! If someone wants me to tell how to make nougat ganache, I can explain it XD (Although my warning, it's just something I made up myself, so not a real recipe... But ganache on it's own is really basic after all so not like anything like that would require an actual recipe!)
